Super Summer Sevens at Sundial

DBG Super Summer Sevens Finale on Wednesday Eve
Referee Stu Geiger manages the rising scrum-put in the East v PAC match

The 2015 edition of Wednesday Night 7s culminates tomorrow evening at Cranmer (Sundial) Park. The action starts as soon as you make an appearance or 5:30pm, whichever.

In the emergent men’s, dually-bracketed division, Bill Baer’s East High Angels hold the first seed in Group A, while Ethan Pougnet’s Littleton Rebels top Group B. The high-flying Angels will square off against Titans Rugby (Parker) in the first semifinal, while those recalcitrant Rebels will take on Front Rangers, PAC Rugby, in the subsequent semi.

Denver East is led by versatile three-quarters, Adam Leonard, and seeks to close out this summer’s sevens season with the Dr. Bill Gregg Super Summer Sevens Championship crown. Pougnet’s Insurgent Selects, on the other hand, have the triple threat of Aurora Saracens Fifita brothers (nephews of former Denver Barbarians, Glendale Raptors and Golden Dragons stellar front row, Sione Fifita) in the rebellion’s arsenal.

The winners of the semis will contest the championship, while the losers drop into the Plate Playoff; Northside play Regis for the Bowl title.
