Littleton Eagles

Heitmann prepares to touch down the b-p score |
In a driving
snowstorm on Saturday, Regis Jesuit laid claim to the top of the premier
division high school boys table with five-point victory over Littleton. Lou “Sweet”
Vera, working the pivot this day, continued his recent points production with
five-from-five sticksplitting precision and a try for a personal haul of 15 on
the day.
The Eagles failed to muster
fifteen by kickoff at Lou Kellogg Stadium, thus the visitors were one-man down
for the competition.
Trys by the
Jesuit 8man, Matt Peppercorn, his brother Jack on the wing, Isaac Vargas
(fullback), inside center Soran Heitmann and Vera, all made seven by Vera, made
for a 35-0 final result in the match truncated by injury.
With the
victory, the Raiders have drawn even on the table with Denver East High Angels,
but have earned the first seed in the upcoming playoffs due their win over league
East last week.
Scoring
Regis – Try: M Peppercorn, J Peppercorn, Vargas,
Heitmann, Vera; Con: Vera (5);
