Major League Rugby - Raptors up!

Glendale Raptors share a crowded, three-way topspot after the inaugural week of action in the newest professional rugby competition on earth. Raptors partners in the ordering seat at the table are upcoming adversary, Seattle SeaWolves, and NOLA Gold.

SeaWolves topped San Diego Legion last weekend, 39-23, in their home ground at the StarFire Sports Complex in the City of Tukwila, located adjacent Seattle on its southside.

NOLA Gold earned a hard-fought 36-25 victory on the trot at Houston SabreCats.

Glendale travel to Seattle on the weekend to determine who'll be numero uno at the end of round two; NOLA Gold are idle, so the SeaWolves-Raptors fixture will be for topspot in the league. Wolves handled San Diego well in their opener and will provide dangerously entertaining competition 7:30 on the Saturday at StarFire. Hosts have a large, swift pack of forwards well-coordinated by their scrumhalf/coach, Canadian international Phil Mack. It is critical to the win Raptors keep the referee's cards in his pocket. The aerial predators were very nearly undone last week as they were awarded a brace of reds and a yellow as well. A repeat ill-disciplined performance will surely bode unwell for Saturday's travelers. Match will be broadcast live on the CBS Sports Network.
