High School Playoffs: Semifinals of State

It’s to be Old School rugby versus New School rugby at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park tomorrow in the Premiership Division of Rugby Colorado, the State’s secondary schools governor. For it’s Regis Jesuit Raiders v Palmer High Terrors and Denver East High Angels v Monarch High Coyotes. Regis and East have better than half century of experience between their rugby programs, while Coyotes and Terrors are relatively recent arrivals on the high school rugby scene.

Both Palmer and Monarch were promoted to the top high school division only in 2017, and both achieved Best Four status in the playoffs last season, Monarch taking the State Championship. East and Regis past XVs have each hoisted the championship trophy, while the only club yet to have earned that right is Terrors. The best emergent men’s rugby in the region is on tap tomorrow at Dick’s, a viewing way worth it!

Raiders-Terrors first drop is at 11am and Angels-Coyotes go at 12:30pm.
