Rocky Mountain Rugby Playoffs

Playoff Time - Derby Days

Women’s D-1: Frontier Conference
Glendale Merlins v Black Ice: 10am Saturday, 5.5, on the StoveTop at Infinity; Merls did the double on the Ice in the league; winner moves on to round 2 v Utah Vipers.

Men’s D-2: Frontier Conference
Denver Barbarians v St. Louis Royals: 3pm Saturday, 5.5, on the StoveTop at infinity; Men in Green will be yearning for the reset, as last season’s playoffs, weather-affected, did not go Barbos way and they’ll be seeking redress; Royals won USARFU’s D-3 trophy in 2017 and will be looking to repeat that run at the higher level on the weekend. Winner on to Fort Worth and the West in a fortnight.

Men’s D-3: Frontier Conference
Colorado Springs Grizzlies v Wichita Barbarians: 1:15pm Saturday, 5.5, on StoveTop at Infinity; Grizzlies went 10-2 in the league; Springs can rack up the numbers, but they also allow points as they did in their brace of losses at Littleton Eagles, 36-38, and v Laramie Lumberjacks, 43-46; Springs’ll be looking to plug the holes in the defense and let their offense run hard, fast and frequent!

High School Boys Premiership – Quarterfinals

Regis (29) v (6) Arapahoe: 6pm Friday, 5.4, at Regis; Raiders topped Arapahoe 59-nil during the season. Lookin' for the repeat;
Palmer Terrors (25) v (15) PAC: 7pm Friday, 5.4, at Garry Berry Stadium; Palmer pipped PAC by a single, 20-19, in season at Evergreen; could be a barnburner!
Monarch (30) v (2) Aurora Saracens: 8:15pm Friday, 5.4, at Williams Field; Monarch got the decision, 43-10, at home this spring; rematch may have different result;
East (21) v (17) Dakota Ridge: 3pm Saturday, 5.5, at Heaven; Angels opened their campaign with a 25-point win over the Ridge, still this is the High School Match of Weekend (MoW)

High School Boys D-Deux – Quarterfinals

Ridgeview (30) v (28) Vista: 5pm Friday, 5.4, at Ridgeview Academy; homeboys can put up some points, but so too, their opponents; should be lively!
Weld (31) v (25) Boulder: 7pm Friday, 5.4, at UNC Rugby Fields; potent offenses once more; XV whose defense shows may just take this one;
Pikes Peak (40) v (23) Broomfield Tigers: 7:30pm Friday, 5.4, at Palmer High School; Tigers can score points, though they can be scored upon as well; Pikes Peak have a daunting defense and will crucify a mistake-prone adversary;
Legend Titans (34) v (28) Grand Junction Griffins: 3pm Saturday, 5.5, at Ponderosa HS; Legend are undefeated this year… they’re successfully offense-minded and have limited the opposition to less than 15-point-per-match; tough ask for GJ, but if their defense is up to it, this could be a thriller!
