Rocky Mountain Rugby – By the Numbers

MD-2: The Red Division - Round 1

               10           -try Boulder picked up the 62-12 road win over Denver Harlequins on the weekend; doubles by 11, Warner Wyckoff and 12, Greg Hesler, and a 17-point haul from the visitors scrumhalf, Sean Kilfoyle, on 6 conversions and a grounding assisted the Boulder tally, while trys by blindside flanker Anthony Fisher and fullback Paul Bordenkircher, one converted by 10, Steve Zaugg, made up Quins number;

               7             points by the third minute on a try by 12, Matt Soderman and its conversion by 5, Sean Welfare augured well for Highlanders, but lasted less than five before Barbarians sparkplug, Carmine Hernandez rounded the base of the scrum 35 meters from goal into space to finish fast and ground for the conversion by 15, Devin Martling, which drew the XVs  level at 7s; Barbos subsequently rode a 32-14 lead into the break and compounded into the final forty to record 49-21 victory in their opening title national defense;

MD-3: The White Division - Round 1

1                 the measure of separation at 8-7 in the 18th minute before Flamingos knocked out 20 unanswered as travelers gave 2017 champs, Colorado Springs the dull surprise and claimed 5-point victory in the Springs; 1 double for Flamingos 6, Gabe McCabe in the 44-31 win;
22           the haul for Queen City Rams 10, Scott Trench on a brace of       groundings, 3 conversions and 2 penalties as Rams upended Littleton Eagles, 42-21;

MD-4: The Blue Division – Round 1

               16           the difference between Marauders and Rush at 40-24 as Marauders got 5 in Broomfield:

               5             the points haul for Boulder as Quins forfeited, 0-28;

               7             for the house through the 45th minute before Barbarians grounded thrice in an  8-minute interval to command a 24-7 lead by minute 53; Highlanders scored twice to draw within 5 at 19-24; Barbos closed the scoring with a try by flyer, Dante Brown for the 29-19 record;
