6 Nations: France v Wales

Weather may very well play an inimical bit tonight in the opening 6 Nations clash between France and Wales at Stade de France (1pm MST).
Halfbacks battle will be Tomos Williams, in his first start for Wales, and Auckland-born Gareth Anscombe versus cagey veterans, Morgan Parra and Camille Lopez, for the home side.
19-years old Les Bleus legacy, Romaine Ntamack, dons his first international jersey at the inside center slot and you may rest assured he’ll be challenged by his opposite number, Hadleigh Parkes, and the Welsh backrowmen early and often.
Wesley Fofana v Jonathan Davies will be the other action to pay attention in the midfield as those experienced 13s get after it.
Wales talisman Leigh Halfpenny is not roster today due his slow return from concussion and that may impact the Welsh counter, but Liam Williams should fill-in sufficiently.
The George North – Joann Huget contest should show well and South African Paul Willemse is seeking to make significant imprint in his first tri-color effort. Willemse-Alun Wyn Jones interactions will have an effect on the outcome.
We’ll see what 32-years young backrow lock Louis Picamoles has left in the tank, ditto French fullback Max Medard, and expect Bordeaux B├Ęgles half, Baptiste Serin, to relieve three decader Parra from the bench sooner rather than later.
Could be slippery, and slidey at Stade de France for the match should the heavens open, but regardless, this is either team’s result for the making and taking.
