Major League Rugby - at 2019 season midpoint

Major League Rugby North America: Weekend Wrap
By The Numbers 3.30-3.31

Middle of the season right now with most clubs having 8 done and a pair on 7 and 1, Glendale Raptors, has 9 matches completed. a table point (TP) accumulation of 50 or better should see extra time, 60+ would ensure that frame; first 4 go.

Top 2 clubs remain in their places, though the NOLA Gold loss to Raptors on Saturday has enabled hot-hot-hot New York United to sneak right up on the gilded frontrunner hindquarter. United are currently a single table point (1TP) adrift NOLA after well-earning the 5-pointer in Utah.

NOLA with the misstep in Colorado last weekend, have now bookended three wins with losses in their last handful. Next up for the Gold is a re-match with Toronto; NOLA won the US end of the brace by 5, and the fixture on the upcomer will be telling both clubs as Arrows have their internationals returned - as do Gold, of course - it’s just that Toronto are the 1 feeder club for Canada, while Eagles have 8, the remainder of the league, so the Canadian factor may loom larger.

Glendale are currently in 3rd, an absolute playoff slot. However, everyone at the feast has at minimum of 1 match to catch up with the Raptors, while Utah Warriors and Houston SabreCats have 2. Glendale host Houston on the next RugbyDay and won’t like a loss as their near chasers, Seattle SeaWolves and San Diego Legion, could replace them on the chart with a weekend win. Seattle are at Utah and San Diego host Austin Elite Rugby.

New York are the Beasts from the East right now, on 5 in a row, since dropping a match to Seattle in Washington. Right now United is to the MLR kinda like Toulouse is to the Top14; or, RUNY:MLR=T:T14

Weekend Results: 3-of-4 road wins

Austin 11-19 New York
Utah 31-64 Toronto
Glendale 34-33 NOLA
Seattle 22-28 San Diego
