Major League Rugby - Preview

Major League Rugby North America Weekend+ Preview

Clubs have either three or four fixtures remaining. Therefore 15 or 20 the potential points to be had. 60+, possibly high 50s, table points should earn extra time maybe a number in the low 50s, but more than that to ensure more work at season's end would be the target.

Thursday, May 9th:
               Toronto Arrows (45) v (4) Austin Elite at York Alumni Stadium ONT, 5pm MST: home team could conceivably go from 6th to 2nd on the table as they’ve a brace of fixtures upcoming their extended weekend; tonight is the makeup, but it must begin tonight and carry straight through Sunday; Elite yet seeking their first joy of the season; high 50s with rain and wind for the derby that Toronto must win;
Saturday, May 11th:
               NOLA Gold (50) v (47) San Diego Legion in Gold Stadium, Marrero LA, 1pm MST: well if you’re thinking, “it doesn’t get any better than this: numbers 1 & 2 on the table," you're right! 1 with four fixtures remaining, 2 with three yet; they’ve traded places on the chart in the last fortnight and they can do so once more with traveler joy; warm with temps in the low 80s, but also wet with wind to slippen the pig and slicken the pitch; M-o-W;

               New York United  (42) v (41) Seattle SeaWolves at the MCU, on the shore at Coney Island, Brooklyn, 2:30pm MST: numbers 3 and 5 in the standings will be slamming, jamming and absolutely looking to make a statement here and now; the other match of the weekend; low 60s, little wind, no rain for this critical contest;

               Houston SabreCats (11) v (42) Glendale Raptors in AEVA Stadium TX, 6pm MST: gotta win Glendale versus a ‘Cats crew that roar, “BRING IT” - deceptively good; temps in the mid-70s and little wind, but it will have rained in the morning, so possible slippen and sliden;
Sunday, May 12th:
               Toronto Arrows (3?) v (16) Utah Warriors at Lamport Stadium ONT, 12pm MST: see above re: ‘Cats v Raps; forwards forecast with good bit of rain on tap, lotta wind and temperatures in the mid-to-low 40s...

no byes with Austin making up their weather cancellation in the True North on today!
