Friendly Internationals WRap

Internationals Wrap on the Weekend

Tonga topped Western Force in Nuku’alofa, 19-15, in a battle that saw three lead changes, the last at the hour mark as Ikale Tahi and Force were drawn on trys, but Tonga completed two of their groundings, while their guests struck out, 0-from-3 on those conversions.
Scotland got their own return over France at Murrayfield, 17-14, with both XVs sporting their strong halfback pairings: Laidlaw-Russell for the Scots and Dupont-Lopez for Les Bleus; brace for France flyer, Damian Penaud, each made seven by 15, Tommie Ramos.
England pummeled a Johnny Sexton-less Ireland (tumb [sic] injury*) at Twickenham, 57-15, though four lead changes in the first 40 made for a lively contest before Men of the Rose opened up the nitro valve, counting 35 unanswered in 30 minutes that effectively closed the door on Ireland by the 65th minute. Ford-and-Farrell at #s 10 & 12 for Eddie Jones’ bunch looking fair formidable just now...
Uruguay worked past the South American President’s XV in Montevideo, 24-20, overtaking the Élites near time in a match that saw drawn scores of 12s at the midpoint and three, second-stanza lead changes;
Canada returned from 19 points down to lead, 35-24, with less than 10 to go, but a brace of converted Leinster scores within seven minutes of time enabled the Irish to overtake their hosts 38-34 in Hamilton, Ontario
