2019 RWC: Japan +1; upcoming

The Next 24 in
Mountain Standard Time

2019 Rugby World Cup got on this morning with host nation, Japan, doing the expected v the Russian Bear;  the upcoming 14 hours or so see the big boys banging after each other and within 24 hours we’ll know a number of things including the winners of:

·         Australia v Fiji at 10:45 tonight from the Sapporo Dome: if Flying Fijians are looking to take off and to the quarterfinals, this is an outcome that could put them well on that way; Aussie topped off their preparations with a somewhat untidy win over Samoa, who pushed Fiji hard in the third round of Pacific Nations; expect a telling result for both tonight;
·         Argentina v France at 1:15 tomorrow (Saturday) morning from Tokyo Stadium: Pumas eschewed a rigorous prep schedule for rigorous training, one should think, and then dusted Randwick, a premier Australian XV, as final tune; Les Bleus looked good in their match v Scotland in Paris, making one think, “France?”, and then they stumbled in Edinburgh on the return, and one thought, “France.” - abso toss-up;
·         New Zealand v South Africa at 3:45 tomorrow morning from International Stadium in Yokohama: nothing more needs be said than: “preliminary to the final?”
